THE MOVIE
After ROOM SERVICE was a hit on Broadway, The Marx Brothers made it into a film, which premiered in 1938. It was the only movie they starred in that they didn't write themselves.
 |
The Marx Brothers try to produce a play before their landlord finds out that they have run out of money.
To confuse the hotel management, they pretend that the author has contracted a terrible disease and can't be moved. Though originally a Broadway play, this is vintage Marx Brothers. |

MOVIE TRIVIA

- During salary negotiations with RKO, erstwhile member Zeppo Marx represented his brothers, threatening to rejoin the group if their demands weren't met!
